From the Chart of Accounts tabs there is a column to show the report code for each general ledger (GL) code. Understanding how these work can help with reporting within Xero.

- Refer to the Chart Of Accounts in Xero for an overview – easy way to spot changes needed
- Toggle on the Report Code column
- Get familiar with the report code aspects form the descriptions (via Advanced Accounting)
- Check with the accountant if already fully mapped – there could be good reasons why they are mapped the way they are!
- Alternative method- custom report using layout editor
